Mid Level Log Bridge

Mid Level Log Bridge

Feel the adrenaline rush on four different ziplines of varying heights and lengths, and our main attraction – Zipline over the top of Goliath’s Crocodile Territory.

DIFFERENT LEVELS OF DIFFICULTY

The course is graded and colour coded much like that of a ski course, where participants at different levels of fitness and aptitude can choose their path. Participants will be able to select a more difficult route or to opt out of an activity segment altogether. The course will be designed to allow participants to pass at certain points. Offering different levels of difficulty caters to different age groups, fitness levels and interests.

THE ROPES COURSES

The Cairns ZOOm comprises of the :

Cairns Wildlife Dome – free flight birds, koalas and reptiles wildlife exhibit,

Mid Zoom – a mid level Ropes Course with 27 crossing elements,

Hi Zoom – a high level ropes course with 38 crossing elements,

ZOOm View – an internal walk around the top of the glass dome with views of the entire exhibit,

Dome Climb - an external walk around the top of the glass dome with views of Cairns City, the Coral Sea and local Mountain ranges,

PowerJump – a controlled descent device allowing participants to jump from the 15m high internal walkway, and

Zip Lines - four Zip Line (flying fox) crossings within the Dome.

THE MID ZOOM ROPES COURSE

The Mid Course, at an easier level of difficulty is suitable for beginners, young people and as an introduction for the Hi-Zoom.
Participants will start out on a 30cm high training element before exploring 27 different elements including: a spider’s web, seesaw, chairs and a snakes and ladders climbing wall.
Many of these elements are designed and named after Australian animals with similar attributes, allowing visitors to interact with and be educated about our native fauna.
For example, The Wombat Tunnel, Frog Leap Steps and a Golden Orb spider’s web.
Reaching no more than 3 metres in height, the mid-course is more suitable for participants afraid of heights.
One Adult is required to supervise every 2 children between the heights of 120cm and 140cm.

THE HI ZOOM ROPES COURSE

The High Course is a medium to hard level of difficulty suitable for older children, and young and older adults alike.
Some of the 38 elements of the Hi-Zoom are very difficult, high among the treetops and may take a few attempts.
Participants will enjoy crossings such as the Beer Kegs, Tyre Wire, Walk the Plank, Dodge Ball, and the Cargo net.
Don’t get stumped on the stumps, or get swayed by the log bridge – the Hi Zoom is one of a kind.
Ranging from 5 metres to 10metres high into the Dome, the high course is a test for those who are afraid of heights, and a testament to those who succeed.

THE ZIPLINES

There is four Ziplines throughout the high course with varying heights and lengths.
The main attraction is the Zip line which takes participants over the top of the Crocodile pond which houses Goliath, who at almost 4 metres is the Dome’s largest inhabitant.
Goliath’s shallow pond restricts how high he can jump out of the water, coupled with a 7metre high Zip line ensures Goliath poses no real threat at all to the participants thrilling ride.

THE SPIRAL STAIRCASE

The spiral staircase is more of a challenge than you may expect. Spiral staircases make the most use of space by tightly wrapping around the centre spire, but this also makes them more difficult to ascend. There are platforms at regular intervals up the staircase to stop and enjoy the view, catch a breath, or shake off the dizzies.
These platforms are also connecting points for some of the Rope course elements and zip lines.
