Q: What time are you open until?
A: We operate from 9:00am to 6:15pm each day (last koala photo at 6:30pm, last entry into the Wildlife Park and for ZOOM Activities at 5:00pm), excluding Christmas Day.
Q: What are the requirements to participate in ZOOM activities?
A: You must be at least six years of age, at least 120cm tall and weigh less than 120kg (Note: For Hi-ZOOM you need to be at least 140cm tall).
Q: Can children participate in ZOOM activities by themselves?
A: Children between the ages of 4-14 inclusive pay the children’s rate and are required to be accompanied by a parent / guardian or responsible adult. Teenagers aged between 15-17 need to have a waiver form with Next Of Kin contact details signed by a parent / guardian or responsible adult, but may be left unaccompanied. An under 14 year old is not permitted to be supervised by a 15-17 year old. Proof of age may be requested.
Q: If I enjoy the ZOOM activities, can I upgrade to a membership?
A: If you enjoyed your ZOOM experience and want to upgrade to a membership, you can do so on the day of participating in the activities.
Q: What should I wear when participating in ZOOM activities?
A: Guests must wear enclosed shoes (shoe hire is available), shorts/pants (no skirts or dresses) and a top with no loose jewellery that may get caught on your harness.
Q: Can I decide to do the ZOOM activities if I only purchase a Wildlife Dome entry?
A: Yes, just go to the ZOOM Welcome Desk upstairs to pay the upgrade costs.
Q: When can I have a photo taken with the wildlife?
A: Koala photos are taken every hour from 9:30am to 6:30pm. Snake and crocodile photos are taken at the same time until 4:30pm. Anyone can hold a koala as long as they are over 120cm tall and follow the wildlife keeper’s instructions. Photos are taken in our special photography area next to Reception/Gift Shop.
Q: Can I bring in my own food and drinks to the Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome?
A: No food of any kind is allowed upstairs in the Wildlife Dome due to Queensland Health guidelines. However, you may bring drink bottles. We also have a large range of cold drinks available for sale.
Q: Do I have to pay if I am only a spectator?
A: As you are entering a wildlife immersion exhibit surrounded by wildlife and can attend all the shows and tours, you are required to pay the wildlife entry ticket price.
Q: Do you offer birthday parties?
A: Yes, please email email@example.com to obtain details of the different group options.
Q: What is included if I have a 4 Park Pass?
A: Your 4 Park Pass pass is valid for Wildlife Dome entry only which includes all the shows and presentations. You can access special rates to upgrade to ZOOM activities and wildlife photos.
Q: Can I purchase a koala/wildlife photo without entry?
A: Yes, you can have a photo with a koala, snake or crocodile at the advertised sessions.
Each day, the park opens at 9am with a 6:15pm closure. Last koala photos are taken at 6:30pm and last entry is at 5pm.
How to Get Here
We are located on top of The Reef Hotel Casino. Entry to the Casino lobby is via either Abbott or Wharf Street. Access to the Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome is via the lifts located in the casino foyer.
If you come by car you can park either underneath The Reef Hotel Casino, at the carpark located near the Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal or use the carpark spaces surrounding the casino complex. Note: carparks and parking spaces may incur parking fees based on duration – please read the appropriate signage.
The local Sunbus services Cairns and suburbs and the main depot is located in Lake St. Click here to view the current timetable.
There is also a taxi service available in Cairns with taxi ranks located at Cairns Central and in Lake Street near the Sunbus main depot. Taxi bookings can be made by calling Ph: 131 008

Gift & Souvenir Shop
We have a range of clothing, soft toys, books and souvenirs for you to buy as a gift for family and friends, or to remember the fun you had at Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome. Don’t forget, you can take a wildlife photo with a koala or reptile in our Reception area. For the more adventurous, you can get your photo taken while ziplining over Goliath the Croc or doing the PowerJump (check out the photo times here).
You can purchase drinks, snacks and ice-creams in the Gift Shop however due to Queensland Health regulations, consumption is only permitted on the reception level. This area features seating and a timber deck with a view down Trinity Inlet.
If you would like a meal, The Reef Hotel Casino has three restaurants available. There are also several cafes and restaurants within walking distance of the casino complex.
During your visit why not take a photo with a koala or one of our reptiles (check out the photo times here). You can also take a photo while you are doing the PowerJump or Ziplining over Goliath the Croc!

There is a risk of injury in any physically testing challenge activity, and bruises and scrapes could occur. However, the risk of serious injury due to falling is minimized by the use of a Saferoller continuous belay system, whereby the user is always attached to the safety system and therefore secure.
