Community Support

Both the CaPTA Group and Cairns ZOOM and Wildlife Dome have a commitment to the region that stems beyond our tours and attractions! We are keen supporters of the local community and make it our mission to support local charities, organisations and causes.

We regularly provide sponsorship to a variety of sporting and community groups, schools and art organisations. Alongside this, we get involved with community events and help raise funds for local causes, such as the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal and the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal. We love to encourage our team to help out too.

COUCH

COUCH- which stands for Cairns Organisation United for Cancer Health- is a Cairns-based charity with a mission to improve health care services for locals living with cancer.

The charity was established in 2006 by CaPTA Group founders Charles and Pip Woodward and originally rallied for better oncology services in Far North Queensland, which was inspired by Cairns resident Liz Plummer. The Liz Plummer Cancer Care Centre was opened in 2011.

Charles and Pip Woodward wished to further improve the health care services for local people diagnosed with cancer and made it their goal to create a wellness centre. The COUCH Wellness Centre was opened in 2019 on land donated by the Woodward family.
