Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome Story
The story of Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome begins in 2005.
The CaPTA Group, a local family owned business, purchased the existing Cairns attraction, the Cairns Wildlife Dome, in 2005.
After several years of successful operation, the Woodward family decided to grow and expand the business even further.
The Cairns ZOOM component was conceptualised, designed and built by the CaPTA Chairman, Charles Woodward in conjunction with his son Michael Woodward.
Construction of the challenge commenced in April 2012 and the attraction opened eight months later in December 2012 as Cairns ZOOM & Wildlife Dome.
Since 2012, it has continued to grow, with new activities being added regularly.
To date, the ZOOM course consists of over 65 challenge elements at different heights, 3 ziplines, an external viewing walkway and a Power Jump.
More recently, the Pirate Net Climb, Commando Rope Climb and Slacklining have been added to the ZOOM activities to create even more fun for our visitors.
Moving forward, there are more adventure activities planned.
